Audi has finally offered an early look inside its upcoming flagship SUV, and the new Audi Q9 appears ready to push luxury, comfort, and technology to a completely new level. Designed as Audi’s first full-size SUV, the Q9 focuses heavily on interior experience, premium materials, and family-friendly practicality.
The German automaker says the Audi Q9 is more than just a luxury vehicle. Instead, the company wants it to feel like a modern mobile living space. With room for up to seven passengers, electrically powered doors, advanced lighting technology, and a massive panoramic sunroof, the SUV aims to compete directly with the most premium large SUVs in the global market.
Audi CEO Gernot Döllner also described the vehicle as a new direction for the brand’s “Vorsprung durch Technik” philosophy, placing more attention on in-car experience and passenger comfort.

Audi Q9 Interior Focuses On Space And Comfort
The Audi Q9 places a major focus on spacious seating and premium comfort. Buyers can choose between six-seat and seven-seat layouts depending on their needs. The six-seat version offers business-class-style individual seats in the second row with electric adjustment and active ventilation.
Audi has also added massage and ventilation functions for front passengers. Meanwhile, families may prefer the seven-seat version because all three seats in the second row support child seat installation.
The third-row seats can fold electronically, making it easier to switch between passenger and cargo space. Audi says the SUV was designed for long-distance travel, daily family use, and executive comfort at the same time.
Premium materials play a huge role inside the cabin. The company uses fine Nappa leather, wool blends, microfiber surfaces, natural wood trims, and textured finishes throughout the interior. Audi also reduced glossy surfaces to minimize fingerprints and create a cleaner appearance.

Automatic Doors And Massive Panoramic Roof Stand Out
One of the most interesting features in the Audi Q9 is its fully electric door system. For the first time in an Audi vehicle, every door can open and close electronically. Drivers can control them using the key, infotainment system, smartphone app, brake pedal, or seatbelt functions.
The doors also include obstacle detection technology. This system can stop a door from opening if nearby objects, cyclists, or tight parking conditions create a safety risk.
Audi also introduced a large panoramic sunroof measuring around 1.5 square meters. The roof features adjustable transparency settings that allow passengers to switch sections between clear and opaque glass.
The system blocks more than 99 percent of UV radiation while helping maintain cabin comfort. Higher trims even include LED lighting inside the roof with 30 selectable ambient colors.

Advanced Lighting And 4D Sound Create A Luxury Experience
Technology inside the Audi Q9 goes beyond screens and connectivity. Audi has created an advanced ambient lighting system that stretches across the dashboard and doors to create a premium atmosphere.
The SUV also features an upgraded Bang & Olufsen 4D sound system. Unlike traditional audio systems, this setup adds seat actuators that allow passengers to physically feel music vibrations during playback.
Audi says the lighting system can even sync with music rhythm and album artwork colors for a more immersive experience.
The center console includes dual wireless charging pads and high-speed USB-C charging ports delivering up to 100W output. Storage solutions were also redesigned to improve practicality for large families and long road trips.
The Audi Q9 is expected to make its full global debut during Summer 2026. Based on the first interior preview, the SUV already looks prepared to become one of Audi’s most luxurious and technology-focused vehicles ever produced.
